Recently discovering Airbnb’s new OMG! Feature – I just knew there was NO way I could not share this amazing news. Airbnb has revamped its website and has updated the search settings to include different categories based on what kind of dreamland or paradise you want to stay in.
Previously, you could search Airbnb with filters like price and location. Now – they have an entirely new section called OMG! Which is identified by a UFO icon (and in my opinion – you can’t get any cooler or wacky than that!).
With 56 NEW CATEGORIES: You can also search vacation spots to stay in based on other preferences if the weird and wacky isn’t your thing. Earth homes, caves, A-frame homes, National Parks, and Tiny Homes are just a few of the categories you can search when looking for your next getaway spot.
When it comes to planning a vacation – most people know exactly where they want to go. If you’re unsure, maybe some of these epic vacation homes will inspire you. The OMG! is a slightly distinct category on Airbnb. Yes, quite different. UFOs, airplanes, and floating homes are just some of the incredible places you can rent out.
Quite a few OMG! Homes on Airbnb are selected for their unique architectural styles, such as the quaint and picturesque hobbit home that may be seen on the list. During your exploration, you could stumble upon a home that an octopus has constructed, a tree house, or even a silo home.
You might be persuaded to stay in a cute little red caboose that has a lofted bed, a soaking tub, and some friendly hens right on the premises.
OMG! Homes are designed to make the most of their surroundings.
You might spot a house designed in the style of a submarine that appears to be floating in a forest of redwoods in the midst of a field of grass. In addition, you can live in a cave, soar to new heights in a glass skyscraper, or even experience what it is like to vanish into the desert in a home that is described as “invisible.” All of these options are available to you in this virtual world of the new Airbnb categories.
Because of their unique appearance, these Airbnb rentals are among the most well-known of all those offered by the company.
It is possible that you will come across locations that you have seen on morning shows or in magazines, such as a peculiar shrine to a god of the serpents of the Aztec religion or well-known picture ops such as the Big Idaho Potato Hotel! 1. UFO Futuro House – United Kingdom
The unique UFO, which sleeps four, is situated in the center of South Pembrokeshire.
Convenient to the well-liked seaside towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot, which are known for their pristine beaches and charming harbors.
2. Quetzalcoatl’s Nest – Mexico

Spice Girls Fans will know this is the real Spice Bus from Spice World and love it, but the inside has been redone.
Working with some great designers, the owners turned it into a place to stay so that fans can spend the night and live out their wildest dreams. The bus is in a beautiful area with a view of Island Harbour Marina, which is a plus.

There is magic to be found inside this charming Drommen cottage, which is among the most unusual in all of France. To be honest, I’m really getting some Baba Yaga vibes from this one.
12. The Chaos Oasis – Belize
The Chaos Oasis is the first building in the neighborhood to be made out of only recycled materials. It is right next to the Mayan ruins and archeological park of Lubaantun.
The community of San Pedro Columbia is a 10-minute walk from the Oasis. There, you can watch birds, swim in the river, and make chocolate. They are open to families, couples, and lone travelers – and if you bring your kiddos that’s fine too!
The owners will show you around the Earthship and explain their whole recycling program. You can also stay in a house made out of recycled bottles. Because they are always working on new projects, some of the places will be open/closed while others are being built. If you don’t mind the oddities, you can feel good about helping the environment plus this location is completely off the grid!
The Chaos Oasis has solar lights and cool showers, which are great when it’s hot outside.
If recycling is your thing, the Chaos Oasis is the biggest recycling project in southern Belize.
13. Irish Hillpod Earthen Home – Ireland
The Irish Times cites this location as being the Best Place by the Sea (April 2019). This house was rated the “Best Play to Stay 2018” by The Irish Independent. This magnificent Earth sphere was awarded the “Best Place in Ireland to Get Away from It All” by The Times (2017).

Spend the night in a typical Navajo home. This hogan is 22 feet across and has 6-foot-tall walls on each side. The hogan was made from juniper trees that were found nearby and mixed with mud.
In the winter, it stays warm, and in the summer, it stays cool. When you are there, the usual thing at the top of the mountain connects you to the father sky. It has a propane stove, an old ice box, and a phonograph, among other things.
15. Area 51 Futuro – New Zealand
One of just 50 in the world, this incredible 1974 Futuro home has recently undergone a thorough restoration and is now ready to provide you with an unforgettable experience.

In addition to the plane, there is the option of staying in a Hovercraft (Nautical Hovercraft) that is now undergoing modification and going on a safari while sleeping on a Land Rover in the midst of a field, depending on the number of extra guests in the group.
25. The Green Moon Lodge – Art Dome and Tropical Garden – Costa Rica
The stunning rainforest dome at Montezuma’s Green Moon Lodge will take your breath away. This is a great place to relax and take in the beauty of the forest. It was built and decorated with art made by the owner, Katrin, and other artists from the area.
